Head Accountant

Job Description

As our company’s Head accountant, your job will be to ensure implementation of activities in the field of bookkeeping, accounting and related tasks to ensure internal and external communication and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities include:

Compliance with legal regulations and internal acts of the company related to accounting standards;
Execution of all administrative activities necessary for quality implementation and documentation of collected data;
Advising and supporting employees on accounting standards and related topics;
Preparation of statistical and tax reports as well as reports for the institutions of the Republic of Croatia; and
Ensuring the accuracy of the data in the company's ERP system required for the preparation of related reports.

Key Activities

Your key activities include:

Development and maintenance of the accounting system in accordance with applicable legal framework and standards;
Preparation of financial statements, monthly and annual calculations, tax records and payroll;
Preparation of monthly and annual reports for internal and external users;
Analysis and reporting to the management;
Incorporating the latest trends of legal framework and regulation in accounting and finance areas;
Independent execution of accounting and bookkeeping activities such as:
- Bookkeeping and control of documents, incoming and outgoing invoices, and bank statements;
- Payroll, travel orders, etc.
- Monthly VAT calculation;
- Fixed assets management and calculation of depreciation and amortization;
- Inventory accounting;
- Cooperation with certified auditors; and
- Communication with authorities.

Requirements

Requirements for Head Accountant include:

Economics degree;
Minimum of 3 years of corresponding experience;
Independence in the preparation of financial statements, income tax and VAT reports;
Knowledge of accounting and corresponding legal framework;
Active knowledge of English language;
Precision and analytical skills, proactivity;
Advanced computer skills: MS Office and ERP programs; and
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (advantage).
